Ascension Early Childhood Community Network
It is the vision of the Ascension Early Childhood Community Network to provide all children, ages birth to four, with a high quality and easily accessible early childhood education in order to ensure kindergarten readiness and future success in school and beyond.
To find and serve at risk families in order to increase the number of children in Ascension Parish who reach kindergarten on time and ready to learn, in order to facilitate future success in school and beyond.
EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
THE ASCENSION EARLY CHILDHOOD NETWORK IS COMPRISED OF THREE PROGRAMS:
- HEAD START,
- SCHOOL-BASED PRE-K CLASSES, AND
- PRIVATE TYPE III CHILDCARE CENTERS
The public is invited to review and comment on our 2021-2022 Early Childhood Community Network Coordinated Funding Plan by emailing ascensionearlychildhood@apsb.
March 24 - May 15: Applications Accepted Online
May 15 - June 15: Eligibility Determinations
June 15: Parent Notification of Acceptance Begins
EARLY CHILDHOOD APPLICATION
- Pre-K and Headstart applicants only.
Public School Pre-K and Head Start programs are state and federally funded and income based; therefore, there are limited openings available at each site. Completing an application does NOT guarantee placement. Students are NOT accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
